Stages of Elearning

Stages of Elearning consists of five stages and these stages can be grouped into two categories. These are the initial design, content development, deployment, maintenance.

The Design stage is an essential one for any Elearning process. For example, if you are trying to provide information to a larger audience then you will need a more complex form of communication. It will also require more advanced computer skills and technical knowledge.

Content Development stage is where the writers are assigned to the task of creating the content of the Elearning course. In a typical ELearning course, there would be a lot of text, audio and video material that need to be created. The writers should possess a thorough knowledge of all the possible formats of Elearning courses so that it can be easily converted into the various formats required by the content development team.

The content developers are responsible for organizing and editing the content to ensure that all the necessary formatting standards are met and that there is no conflict with other documents that are present in the Elearning course. Elearning classes are highly interactive, so the content designers must be able to create and use various software packages that can interact with the Elearning content to deliver a fully interactive experience. The designers must also have a thorough knowledge of HTML as well as scripting.

Content Designers are responsible for designing the website. This includes the designing of the site itself, including the domain name, the web hosting and the content, the designing of the Meta tags and the other elements such as the navigation bars. All these elements must be properly integrated with each other.

Content developers are also responsible for ensuring that the content is properly distributed across the different online venues. There are many sites on the internet that provide online distribution of learning materials.

Content developers are also responsible for maintaining the content in the site and providing updates on a regular basis. They should also be able to create new content that will not clash with other content already present in the Elearning course.

Once the content has been developed as the next step is the Deployment stage. This phase of Elearning involves the actual implementation of the content to the different types of users who will be using the Elearning material. This phase should take place on a continuous basis so that the users are always getting new and improved materials.

Once the deployment is done, the next step is the maintenance phase of the Elearning development team. This is where the content gets checked to ensure that it is not outdated and that the content has been properly maintained throughout the Elearning course. Any content that has been changed or is outdated needs to be corrected before it is made available to the users. It is also necessary to make the content compatible with the different operating systems so that the learning material can easily be accessed by users.

The last and the most important stage are the Maintenance of Certification phase where all the content related to the Elearning course is updated and kept updated to ensure that it is always correct and current. Any Elearning content that has been used before is kept intact so that the certification examiners can use them without having to go through the entire contents again. Every Elearning course should contain a certification section where the certificate of the Elearning course holder can be obtained from time to time.

Every eLearning content also has an expiration date. Once the expiration period has expired, it needs to be changed to make the eLearning material current so that people continue to access it.

These are the main stages of Elearning. However, there are many other stages that exist but are related to some of the above. These include the creation of the content, the creation of the website, the generation of the content, the deployment and the maintenance phase and the usage of the content.

As an Elearning professional, you need to have a complete knowledge of all the stages so that you are able to work effectively. The best way of gaining a comprehensive knowledge of all the Elearning stages is to enroll in a course that focuses on Elearning.
